Question: Why does Rochester need another gym?

Answer:  Most Rochester gyms are for bodybuilders or chain gyms? Few of us are bodybuilders, but we all must move to live longer--for our families, friends and neighbors. Chain healthclubs don't allow for unique offerings MOFitness has:  Paralympic-bound personal training (PT), physically-challenged PT e.g., adaptive training), PT diligently crafted for mature adults, soft water, sauna, veteran group classes followed by meetings, etc.

Question:  What does adaptive training mean?  Can my autistic sister train at MOFitness?

Answer: Yes, all adults can train at MOFitness.  Unfortunately, we do not have the required specialized social-work/psychology licensing to be qualified as cognitively-challenged fitness trainers though.

Question:  What does M.O. mean?

Answer:  One of our trainers thought of the name and the reasoning:

Per the Cambridge Dictionary (along with creative liberties), magnum opus is a formal noun, meaning “the most important piece of work done by a [person]”.1 Using this for the gym, it relates to each person’s effort becoming their greatest achievement each and every visit.  Going to a gym and wanting to achieve results takes effort and expert training. As each session ends, people will notice a person’s physical and emotional presence changing for the better; they are stronger in body and in mind with greater self-image and self-esteem.

Question:  Is physical therapy offered at MOFitness?

Answer: At this time, physical therapy is not available at MOFitness. We refer to physical-therapy experts we have experienced that are excellent.

Question:  I don't want to get big; I won't lift weights.

Answer:  This answer applies only to women and to MTF persons. It's impossible.  Biochemically, a woman's body will never get big; only anabolic steroids taken without a doctor's orders will allow getting massive.  However, a woman's body will change with weight training. Bones become stronger and clothes get looser. Don't rely on a scale; that changes hourly. Feel the difference in how your clothes fit and when people say "wow!" seeing you. That's what you get strength training.

Question:  How much is membership?

Answer: Membership is $70 per month or $35 bi-weekly (e.g., every other week).  Personal training is additional, but it's worth the nominal cost.
